Let us learn the FAQ of the PTFE(Teflon) coated cookware and BBQ utensils !!
1.What is Teflon®?
Teflon® is the brand name for poly-tetra-fluor-ethene (PTFE), a chemical connection that was discovered in 1938 by Roy Plunkett of the DuPont company in the American state of New Jersey. Teflon® was introduced as a commercial product in 1949.
Teflon® is a plastic with the lowest friction coefficient. It is used as non-stick layer in all sorts of pans. Teflon® is particularly non-reactive and consequently is used in all kinds of applications, from medicine to the storage and transport of reactive chemicals.
Teflon® is chemically inert and non-toxic, although at a temperature of above 260ºC its quality begins to deteriorate and above 350ºC it will begin to evaporate. By way of comparison, butter and other fats used to bake and roast begin to scorch and smoke above 200ºC. As a rule to prevent burning, meat should not be heated to more than 230ºC. Cooking utensils placed empty on a heated cooking plate can reach temperatures of over 350ºC. After research conducted in 1959 by the American FDA, Teflon® was approved to be used in cooking utensils. The research showed that any harm from vapours originating from the excessive heating of an empty pan is less than that of common oils and fats.
2. How does the PTFE (Teflon) non stick material work?
The exceptional performance of PTFE (Teflon) non stick is made possible by the characteristics of their unique main ingredient, PTFE (Teflon) fluoropolymer resin.
DuPont® invented non stick surfaces for cookware and has been the leader ever since. They hold the majority of all patents granted in non stick technology. They are proud to say that they are the undisputed leader in research and development, quality assurance, non-stick performance, and consumer trust!
Unlike most other competitive non stick products, DuPont® PTFE (Teflon) branded non stick products feature patented multi-layer technologies to ensure superior performance and durability:
A unique topcoat—for easy food release and easy cleanup.
Before a manufacturer is licensed to use a DuPont® non stick coating, they must submit their products to DuPont® to make certain that exacting quality standards are met. Once a manufacturer is licensed, DuPont® conducts periodic testing to ensure that those standards are consistently upheld. Finally, each manufacturer conducts in-house tests against their own quality standards.
When you see the PTFE (Teflon) logo or "seal," you are guaranteed to get the quality, durability and performance you need for easier cooking and cleanup.
3. Can Teflon® damage my health?
No. Trust in the safety of Teflon® coated products is based on over 40 years of laboratory tests. Our products have been certified in the USA by the FDA Food & Drug Administration, and in Europe by various Health Departments and Agencies.

11. How do I prevent the liner from sliding in the pan?
To make the liner attach better to the pan, you can always put a few drops of oil in the pan before placing the liner. This creates better contact between the liner and the pan, with the liner adhering to the pan’s surface and therefore promoting better heat transmission.
12. Are there any temperature precautions I need to know?
Low or medium heat is recommended; however, DuPont® non stick can withstand temperatures up to 260°C, 500°F — that's well above temperatures needed for frying, baking, and roasting.

25. Will the cooking oil or fat in my deep fat fryer last longer?
Yes if you use the Deep Fat Frying Bags the debris such as breadcrumbs, flour, etc will not fall off the food and become burnt in the oil. It is this burnt food debris that adds “off” flavours and tastes to the cooking oil, so the use of the Deep Fat Frying Bags extends the life of it.
26. When using the toaster, my bag was damaged; how is this possible?
Depending on the brand of toaster, the heating elements may be close to the slots for inserting the slices. The bag itself is not inflammable, so you need not worry that the bag will catch fire.
27. Can I use the foil on the BBQ?
Normally you can. However, we would like to inform you that we have a special BBQ tray in our range. Remember that neither product should come into contact with the flames and may not be heated above 260ºC.
